Hi peeps🙋 in my forth blog i am going to write the implicit and explicit meanings of "Amy" by Eric Chandler.
In the beginning of the story, the author describe the situation in the house, sorrowful. Rain pours down on a house. The word Rain in the script it is not the real meaning, it is the implicit meaning that Amy as an occupant of the house is not in a good condition. She sad, seems like something happened to her.
Amy, fragile beaten down by the world woman in her late 20's, sits behind the window with a sad expression. This sentence describe how hopeless and lonely she is. She tries to face the problem and tries to deal with it, but everything is not going better, everything is just makes her sadness is going deeply.
Amy touches the glass. The word glass in this sentence is the implicit meaning, it is not a real meaning. Glass in this sentence means glasses. She wears glasses then she said "George". She looks at the picture and said George after she wears glasses. I think George is someone that has a correlation with her problem.
Above the chair is a rope attached to the ceiling. Amy steps on to the couch. Amy puts the rope around her neck. She is giving up with her life, she decided to suicide because of her feeling is not going better. The sadness is going deeply until it becomes sorrowful. The only solution is just to end her life, and then all the problem will disappear.
Please let me go, I have nothing left. This sentence happen when George tried to stop her dicision to suicide. She thinks that there is nothing left, she doesn't worth the life.
I'm not really sure what that is. George said this, it is like he got a problem with his mind, he forget everything.
Amy is screaming, she is laying on the floor of the bathtub, her left hand wrist is slit open. This is the second time she is trying to end her life, but it failed because George save her life twice.
You’ll soon find someone who needs you a lot more than you need me. George gives a message to Amy to stop hurting herself, trying to end her life is not makes everything is better. There will be someone that will be new source of happiness.
